Questions

Is it free?

Yes. No ads, no account, nothing to buy.

Where are my movies saved?

In your browser, on this computer. Nothing is uploaded. Use “Download movie” to keep a copy as a .3mm file, the same format the 1995 program used, and open it again any time.

Does it work on a phone or tablet?

It opens there, but the studio was made for a mouse: it's best on a computer with a mouse or trackpad.

Which browsers work?

Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. The first visit downloads about 30 MB; after that it starts quickly.

Is this the original 3D Movie Maker?

It's built on the source code and content Microsoft released as open source in 2022, through the community project 3DMMEx. The engine is the original one, compiled to run in a browser, so movies look and play the way they did in 1995. More on the About page and in the story since 1995.
